That machine should weigh about 28,000 to 30,000 lbs. Horsepower should be about 120 to 140. Since it is a "B" model, it probably has a CASE motor. The later models "D" had a 6 cylinder Cummins. This is the same 6 cylinder they put in the Dodge trucks except an industrial model. I am presently running a 1989 CASE 855D track loader with the 6 cylinder Cummins and it is rated at 80 HP. It is a very solid machine. Call Texana Machinery in Austin or San Antonio, Texas and talk to their service rep and maybe they can help you with the specifics on this older model machine. CASE hasn't made a track loader in several years but the ones that are out there are good machines. However the B model is starting to get some age on it. Also look at MachineryTrader.com or traderonline.com and see what these machines are going for. The MachineryTrader.com site does list auction information and you can get an idea what they are worth. Another option, if you find one on these websites, call the owners and discuss with them your questions. Also take a qualified mechanic with you to look the machine over. Even if it costs you a couple of hundred bucks, it is a small amount to pay to keep you from making a huge costly mistake. Good Luck!
