Sorry everyone for the delay. Like I said there wasn't any secrecy. Anyway, I was looking at 4 machines. After considering everything everyone said to check and look for, I decided on the International 125e. It's a '79. It had the second best undercarriage of the four. The best had a new U/C. But, cost 2.5 times more. Anyway, I had originally looked mainly at dozers. But, I bought this one. Plus, he delivered it to me Saturday afternoon. I spent Saturday evening getting acquainted with "Sheila". Pushing over some small brush and trying to clean up and smooth some burn piles. Sunday, I did a little more with it. I needed to move a pile that the operator I hired piled up. Right where the electric line needed to be buried. So, I condensed his pile by about 6-8 feet. Then I graduated to larger trees. I had my girlfriend take some video's of me pushing them down. Only to find out after the fact she told me she couldn't get the camera to work. The trees weren't large by some standards. But, for my first trees I thought everything went well. The first tree was a 60' pine about 8" in diameter. The second was a 60' oak about 14" in diameter. Both fell right where I planned for them to fall. Then I cut them up for firewood. They needed to be cleared for the house. I didn't want to take them out. But, there wasn't any other way and get the house in. Then I leveled out the dirt where they had been. I think I did pretty good for my first time.
Now ,a couple of the things I'd like to find out now other than the manuals I'll need is; Where would I find out what type of hydraulic fluid I need. Would the Case dealer know or would I need to go to the Komatsu dealer? Or, I'm sure one of you will know. Also, what type of grease do you use to tighten the tracks? I want to try and get the routine maintenance done. I'm not sure when it was last done. The oil was fairly new looking and not black. Thanks to everyone for all of the info you provide. What a great service. I hope to learn a lot from everyone.

Today's Featured Article - The Day Mom Drove the 8N - by Brian Browning. My Dad was wanting to put in a garden but couldn't operate the 8N and handle the old horse drawn plow he had found and rigged up to use with the tractor. Well, he decided to go get Mom out of the house and have her drive the tractor while he walked behind the plow. You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
