Common practice with mini excavators my side of the pond when steel tracks wear out to replace them with rubber ones,also have seen them used on show tractors,rubber tracks have been used on crawler tractors since the 1930's,would not be much good if you were going ripping rock but consider the service they give on the likes of the Challenger or the quad track Case tractors,they seem to work ok on them and skid steers so why not a crawler.
