Pretty high if the chains are 50%. $1500-2250.00 US would be more like it. And you aren't going to make much in the way of trails with a 40C. They are fine for pushing loose dirt or snow or sandy ground, rolling rocks and logs and such. But they aren't a real construction dozer. They were built to pull, not push. Most of the blades are the inside arm, single lift cylinder type. They only cut on the right side, if at all. I love my 40C, but it's not a 350 or D2.
People are asking a lot for them lately with scrap so high. If the chains are 50% according to the seller, they are probably more like 75-90% worn. New chains are not available and you'll need to cob something together like did. For $4K you might keep looking and find a 350 or something a little better suited to trail building. I use mine in the woodlot, but it goes a lot better in winter on snow.
