I started my MF 470 Loader (perkins diesel) the other day, turned over kinda slow but it started. Got a phone call while I was running the machine. Shut off loader to take call. Loader wouldn"t re-start. Clicking like a dead battery. I removed the battery and charged it overnight. Tested to 14.78 volts after charger was done. Installed in loader, turned key and she fired right up. While it was running I put the meter on the battery and it read 12.72 volts, moved the pallets around the yard, parked the machine near my shop door, left it running, tested it again meter read 12.41 volts.
I"m thinking alternator. Shouldn"t it be reading in the neighbourhood of 14 volts while it"s running to indicate a charge?
