Im looking into one to buy. Any good or bad dealings with this truck? Want to pull an IH 706.

Check the DTR for used truck FAQs.

If it is a five speed then there is a potential for the 5th gear nut to back off if lugged under load - there is a permanent fix. If it is an auto then check the trans fluid for burnt smell and see how it shifts - if it shudders under full throttle with the torque converter locked in then it will need a new TC eventually. Ask to see if there has been a fueling box added in the past. Biggest thing is the fuel pressure - if it has ever tanked then the VP-44 is gonna be an expensive issue eventually. If it is a 6X6 then check the trackbar for wear as well as make sure the 4WD shifts in and out easily (front axle disconnect, I think).

Good trucks, motor will outlast the body.

I"d at the least get the fuel pressure checked, and codes read.
If the lift pump is or was bad, the injection pump may need replaced. Look for code 0216. This is a code that tells you the injection pump is on its death bed.
If the power is low or the truck is week in performance, most likely the VP-44 injection pump is finished.
It will cost at least $1000 to $3500 to change it.
Good luck.

I bought a '06 this fall and love it. Cummins and 6 speed auto. I've always owned Dodge trucks and cars so I'm kinda partial, but I really like this one. My biggest problem with buying this year is with the dealers.

We have one. It has been a good truck. Ours is a 5 speed with about 100,000 miles on it. Did have a little troble with the lift pump. Was fixed under warranty.
