Guess it's been awhile since I've been checking out leasing pasture but I always thought it was so much a head or pair for cow calf pair. So if you do it by the pond and lets say they don't gain anything then what you don't get paid or is it just based on weight when brought into pasture??? I don't remember what they figured it to feed a cow but think it was like 5 acres per cow?????

Around here they charge $1.25/bale, but have a $200 dollar minimum. Lots of people have two or three acres and it's not really worth doing by the time you get all the equipment shuffle around.

Who will haul it? If you cut, bale, haul, and unload I would charge at least $1.25 a bale. More if it is poor hay or a long distance from the field. Pasture rent for beef cows with calf I would get paid for gain. Maybe $.33 a pound of gain. This way if you manage your pastures well they can be profitable for you.
