Commercial growers plant bush varieties to avoid the costs of supports for pole beans. Their harvesters pull up bush and all if they are not using hand labor to pick.

We grow our pole varieties on a wire support system or bamboo poles. The wire lasts forever and the bamboo will last a minimum of 10 seasons and is more portable.

Just plant your beans with the corn, and let the beans run up the cornstalks. Hickory King corn with Blue Lake pole beans planted in the rows has worked fine for me. Lets you get two crops at once from the same space. Sweet corn stalks aren't strong enough to hold up beans. The vines will pull the stalks over.

My dad just puts up a wire fence and lets them climb all over that.

We drive a T post at each end of the row and string hay twine between the two posts. Works good for tomatoes also, you can burn it up with the vegetation after harvest.

I saw plans for a trellis made from pvc.
I am testing one that i made from 3/4". make two 5 ft squares then lean and bind them together and run twine up and down.
At the end of the season they can be pulled apart and stored easily.
