Book recommendations for the clueless?

My new 1951 Ford 8N got dropped off here a few hours ago. I managed to drive it 100 feet at 0.1 mph without rolling it over; I've got a complete set of manuals on order; and thanks to the good folks on the N-Series board, I can tell the muffler belt tensioning lever from the headlight fluid cap release. :-)

What I could really use now is a book along the lines of "Tractoring for Dummies". My experience with tractors consists of the aforementioned 100-foot odyssey. I expect the Ford manuals will be helpful, but I'd like something that covers the basics of what to do with a tractor -- how to mow with a brush hog, how to use a blade, what gear the tractor should be in for different tasks, how to turn on a slope safely, things like that.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Bill: A few good rules of thumb based on how you describe yourself. Use at all times common sence. When pulling always hitch to drawbar. NEVER hitch a chain to pin hole for top link to pull something. On terrain, restrict yourself to where you would give your wife a drive in a wheelbarrow. After 6 months or so go where you would take a 6 year old in the wheelbarrow. What I am trying to say is get the feel of that tractor, gradually try new things. When you find yourself reaching to fender to hold on it is too steep. You probably have one of the safest little tractors out there for a novice. Your attitude towards safety is 90%.

The Antique Tractor Bible by Spencer Yost (of ATIS) has some good tips on basic operation and safety, and is a pretty good all around reference for old tractors.

Thanks very much -- I picked up a copy of The Antique Tractor Bible this morning, and it looks pretty good. I only wish it were about 3 times the size. The author covers so many topics on so many models of tractor that many sections seem a little short on detail. Even so, it looks like a really good primer.
