Hybred corn is _very_ location dependent, & growing degree days - are you south, north, east, west? Even just a state wouldn't be close enough. Some questions just don't work without more info.

I agree with JMS. I am playing this year and with the price of corn what is is now, I decided to buy 2 bags of $35 "mimbach special" just to put in the yard where the cattle will winter after it is picked, and am gonna also try a bag of VT triple just to see how it compares to the $140 corn I bought( Actually I receieved new customer and early purchase discounts so I paid quite a bit less), the "mimbach special" is just a local store "mixed bowl" of discount seed, some people laugh at it, some people buy alot of it and laugh at us that pay $100+. I guess I'll find what's what, next fall.

Good question, but a lousy place to ask. Find local seed dealers for their recommendations. Location, latitude, soil type, etc....your estimate on needing three bushels of seed is about right, depending on plant population. Generally sold in 80,000 seeds per bag, may want 25-32,ooo seeds per acre.
