We use a 1/2 to 3/4 rate Boundary and it has always worked great. Only a few cockleburs seem to make it thru and have considered eliminating the post RR. Boundary is essentially Sencor and Dual.

Gangster. It's First Rate & Valor pre-packaged together. Just Valor works too, can do the First Rate portion later if you prefer multiple sprayings.

Used prowl and then canopy and finally quit using anything. Last year the cost of the canopy was going to be as much as two applications of generic round up so I just planned on making a pass when the beans were pop can size or smaller to eliminate any weed pressure and then a later pass regardless of lack of weed pressure. If I was no tilling alot of beans I would seriously think about putting something down in the fall to hold back the winter anualls. Even with the increase in round up cost, which is alot, I did not buy any pre emerege chemicals for bean acres. bill

I use Sonic.

It works well on broadleafs and isn't bad on grass either.

Gary, How is it for controlling lambsquarter(sp?)Also, how soon prior to planting should it be sprayed, what is the best method for incorperating-disc or feildcultivator with harrow? No one in this area seams to do preemerge but many on here recommend it so I am gonna try it this year.

My chem dealer did not like Sonic for heavy clay soils, he thinks much more of Gangster. Not sure what your soils are like.

I've gotten to spraying Valor with Roundup pre-emerge, the ru will kill off anything green and the valor will keep small seeds from sprouting.

Spray the First Rate with Select, FR will kill broadleaves, Select will smoke grasses. If you have weeds left later, can clean up with Flexstar.

If you are going Roundup beans, Two applications of Roundup with nothing else used to be cheapest & worked best, but now with RU corn & the cost of RU, a pre might be a good idea instead.

It does good on lambsquarters and you can apply early in the spring till up to 3 days after planting.

I mostly use it on what I notill. With notill you may want to add 24D for the early emerged weeds.

But I have incorpatrated with a field cultivator.
