Any one had any luck frost seeding timothy on to rye that will be cut early for the straw? I may try it just to see and avoid having to work the ground and pick up the stones again. If it doesn't come I will be out the seed but, if it does great.

Timothy is about the only grass that you will have any luck frost seeding. I tried frost seeding a mix that has timothy, orchard and fescue in it. The timothy was the only thing that came up worth a darn. The being is the seed is nice and round compared to other grasses and it will bounce and roll when it hits the ground.
