I can use help. Anyone know if this is a fair price? The Kubota dealer is aking $11,500 (firm). The Kubota L2900 has 32 gross HP and 25.5 at the PTO. It has 950 hrs on it. Shuttle shift transmission. The dealer says engine compression is 90% of new and the hydraulics are right on. It has sheet metal damage and damage to the tilt steering wheel unit that he will repair along with replacing the front loader bucket. Its my first tractor so any help is appreciated. He says its a great deal - but don't they all.

I'd be suspicious why a bucket with less than a thousand hours needs replacing.. Has he told you the name of the previous owner? It could be a rental unit.. The way I've seen people abuse the rental tractors around here I'd look it over with a fine tooth comb and talk to the rental mechanics to see what all has already broken. Even if it isn't a rental, see if you can talk to the previous owners.

I have been shopping for a Kubota tractor for the past month...every compact Kubota I have looked at (2350,2900) including the 2900 I just purchased this weekend has a warped bucket. The buckets are light duty on these smaller tractors, and are very easily warped. I purchased this tractor for 11,500. Everyone one I have looked at has been in this price range.

I paid $15000 for a new L2900 in 1994. It has been a great tractor with no mechanical problems. This year put a new loader on it for $4000. Around here they hold their value very well.

Around here (North Ga.) that is about average. I saw a 1978 25 hp model (L225 like I own) in pretty rough shape go for $3500 - no loader and a leaking axle housing.

Ok, I am a US, GW Bush backing person, but iffen I was to look at foriegn small tractors, I'd have to consider those Kioti's from Korea. Heard a lot of good stuff abbout them. And about the price of a Kubota or Deere that has been used for several years, yet the Kioti is new with warranties.

Just a thought.
