This is a true story. I was talking to a farmer that had a Belarus, he was telling me about all the troubles he'd had with it....I asked..."then why did you buy it"? His response...."I thought it was cheap"!!! He then pointed to a JD 4320 sitting in the same shed..."thats the cheap tractor right there, I bought it brand new and could get back what I gave for it" I'm not wanting to sound like a smart A--, but I'd go for American to....

Someone did say the 5000 tractors are assembled in Georgia, but many components come from abroad. Of course, this is true for just about everything these days. Look at the origin labels on some of the components in a Ford or GM truck. It doesn't all say USA.

As much as I hate to say it, it's the same for the great american Harley Davidson as well. They have less American produced parts on them than most of the newer Honda cycles.

Keep looking, a guy down the road from me had one, something broke on it (I forget what exactly) and it took 9 months to get all the parts to fix it. Waiting for parts happens now and then but that is ridiculous.

A Belarus can appear attractive because of the price, but don`t be fooled. Consider what you would pay to take posession of this "gem" merely as the first installment of the MANY that will be required to keep it. Unless you`ve got too much time or money, just forget about this "engineering marvel". I didn`t listen when I was warned, and I learned the hard way.

On the off chance that you're serious, and not just trying to start a flame war, Belarus is not well thought of, due to poor build quality, poor dealer network, and difficulty in obtaining (frequently needed) repair parts.

You'd be better off to invest a similar amount of money in a slightly used name-brand tractor. I'm not saying "America - Love it or Leave it" seeing as many of the small and mid-sized tractors are imported whatever the brand, I'm saying stick with something you can get some support for.

All caps doesnt bother me nearly as much as it used to....one of the reasons is because I have come to understand that the computer and the web is reaching out to those people who skipped the whole typewriter revolution and have moved directly to computer keyboards. If you remember, one of the most difficult things to get used to when you are learning to type is to use the shift key for single caps. So...I think many poeple just elect to keep the caps lock on rather than type in all lower case letters.

Over the years I have gotten better at listening to .txt

still boggled at the sheer size of the web

For those new to the internet, typing in all-caps is hard to read & is considered pretty rude, like you are shouting at people. I see a lot of all caps again the past month, must be a round of new people. Hi & welcome. :) Please use lower case to type.

For the cheap bare bones foregn tractors, I hear Belarus is pretty good once you work the bugs out.

It's kinda hard to buy American these days, any tractor under 100 hp & assemblies from bigger tractors are often from foregn lands.
