We had better hope something changes when the driver does or we are going to keep cultivating out everything our ancestors planted for us!

Well, it"s not beyond credibility that the elections are just an excuse, altho there do seem--repeat, seem--to be major differences in the Domestic and World views of the candidates...
Very serious divisions of opinion have formed down here re" the long-term direction the country should take, and the natural human tendency is to dig in your heels when things don"t seem to be going well, and positions harden...
You survived Quebec, or should I say the Quebecois (sorry about the spelling)so we probably will too...

It doesn't affect us? Who the He!! put us into a recession. We had some stupid banks and investors but nothing like down there. I'm not sure about other "northners" but I'm in awe that an election can last a year. We has something like 39 campaigning days so basically the governor general calls an election and 39 DAYS LATER you vote. It's beyond me why you would spend more than 2-3 months campaigning. Just my opinion. If your going to end up in the same place you were before why spend trillions doing it?

You must be watching a different election than I. I watched the debates and never saw either candidate propose any of the things you say will happen. Sounds like a lot of fear mongering. The American people will never let those things happen to your country.Nothing remains the same even mountain tops change over time.

The debates are just a contest to see who can say what people want to hear the best. No one is going to show their true colors durring an election. You have to look back at what they said and how they voted when they were not running for office. You can also look at where they come from, if you don't want to look up old interviews or voting records. Lets see here we have two choices. One was a POW and severed thier contry with honor, then went on to the Senate where they have years of bipartisan votes that were based on what was good for the country. On the other hand we have some one who spent 20 years going to a church but did not share any views with the preacher, worked as a picnic planner and got churned out of one of the most corupt political machines in the country.

Hope that was not too hateful.

Dave

The debates don't mean squat,do a little research on both candidates and you'll see more of a difference in these 2 fellows than any US Presidential election in recent history
