My neice made the front of the sports page in Dickison, ND she won Break-away roping in her college rodeo over the weekend. Youth rodeos are a showcase of what kids should be. If you have a chance, go see a highschool or college rodeo. Alot of good kids participate in these events. You won't see any baggy jeans or gang-banging either. Just good kids with a whole lot of try.

Let me tell ya- if these high school and college aged guys had any brains they would hang out at horse shows and barrel races every weekend.
Some of the best looking, most polite, trim and fit and down to earth young ladies I have ever met participate in these things- and they outnumber the guys about 100 to 1. Most come from a bit of money or land, understand commitment and understand discipline.
Any future farmer looking for a wife would find this a "target rich" environment.
Congrats to your neice! COWGIRL UP!

Awesome! I went to Dickinson State University myself!

Good to hear something positive about today's youth. :)

I'll second the good kids part. My brother and I grew up in youth/high school/college rodeo in Texas. Dad roped calves for 30 years. Lots of great people involved in the sport.

Congrats to your neice.
