Wish the county plows would hurry up and open the roads; drifts clear up to the doorhandles out in the open country.

'Er, maybe they've already taken the plows off since it's the 3rd day of May?

Darnit! I've got cattle that need fed. :>(

Maybe the plow people watched the weather channel.

Last night the weather channel was predicting flash floods for your area of the country from such a fast melt off due to the quick warm up.

This weather sure is not helping the flooding situation in the Mississippi delta.

When I came home from work yesterday afternoon, an electronic sign board on the Interstate said I-80 was closed by Ogalalla.

That's about by the northeast corner of Colorado. I take it you're north of there? Some place in SD they had 48".

Let's see the global warming freaks explain this.

Yeah,

Both I-80 and I-90 were closed yesterday and the hills got the better part of 4 feet.

It rained all night Thursday and then turned cold Friday morning so there is a built-up inch of ice on the roads. Cars and trucks in the ditches everywhere.

Latest snow I can remember was in the later part of June back in the 50s.

Young folks call it "global warming"; old guys call it "normal". Spring blizzards happen; always have. :>)

Ya' got my sympathy. No snow here in Iowa, but so much rain over the last couple of weeks that nobody's able to get in the field. We're about a month behind schedule this spring. We uncovered a blocked field tile this week and had springs of water shooting 3' in the air!

That looks like a scene from January, and it is May correct, they did not roll the clocks back last night did they ?? Don't worry, next week it'll be in the 80's, at least it's some good H2O for the soil.

They've got it all backwards here, 2-3 weeks of sunny dry almost summer like weather until earlier this week, then cools off and rains, that's supposed to come first. Go from 0 to 100, right to summer, no in between, now it's frosted once already, been 40's - 50's.

The farmer near me seems to have done most of the field work already and I assume planted too, he sowed oats on 7 acres here, what was under the soil germinated and has a 2" sprout, but the rest of the seed on top is just laying there, he used a brillion 2 roller cultipacker, not sure if it's a cover crop for hay, but now chasing turkey's and geese out, though the seed looks mostly untouched, I baited the turkey to keep em busy. Looks like that seed needs some light cover, if all of it was under would have sprouted like the rest ? Hopn it all works out, have not seen oats here since the 70's.

Tractors are all drifted in tight with drifts up to the bottoms of the cabs.

Gonna try to get out there this morning to save those critters.

'sposed to be in the high 50s today and 60s tomorrow.

Think so,

Had to chain up the front of the 4X4 to even get out of the garage yesterday to go find those cattle.

Found 'em all hunched up in the southeast corner of the lot, cold, tired and hungry.

They are all cut off from any feed and water by the drifts. Baby calves are shiverin' like crazy; 25 here this morning and roads are all drifted shut again.

All the air dams under the pickup are ripped off from bustin' thru the drifts yesterday. 'Spose Ford will warranty 'em? :>)
