Is anyone planting? I have heard that east of the Illinois river corn is being planted. Here west of the river we had a good rain earlier this week and spotty showers yesterday. Looking at the radar there is a pretty big system about 120 miles west of us and it is coming straight at us, again. Everybody is ready and waiting but not as patiently as two weeks ago! bill

there won't be any tractors in fields for several days on the il. wis. state line we had lots of hard rain over night some places had enough hail to make ground white. a house burned south of monroe wis. 5 people went to hospital i don't know how they are. thought to be caused by lighting strike.

Yes, the planters were running east of the river. Several BTOs around Pontiac went Monday. Around here closer to the river we had an additional later rain shower which delayed planting until Tuesday afternoon. Yesterday's afternoon rain and today's pending deluge will prevent further progress for a few days.

2" here last few days in Central MO. We are about 3 weeks behind planting schedule. We should be almost done planting, and most haven't started.

We will wonder where all that moisture went come July and August!!!!!

Kind of slow here in North central IL. Saw a little field prep yesterday. But it rained and looks like more today.

Here in extreme SW Minnesota a few guys have some corn planted. We have our oats and wheat in. Received over an inch of rain since yesterday noon and now they are talking about snow - 1-3" here and 3 to 6" just north and west of here. We have room for a couple of inches of rain here - just hope it doen't turn into a lot more than that like it seems to every spring for the last 15 years! Didn't the "old-timers" say that a snow on top of your planted small grain is good for it?

We could use some of that rain. Our land is quite light and it's awful dry. Hoping to get some buckwheat in for food plots and maybe some corn.

Was planning on tilling and planting starting next monday. They are for casting 2-5" snow and cool temps till nest tuesday. Guess I have more time to plan. Still do not know if I am putting that other 8 acres in beans or corn. Neighbor north 1/2 mile planted corn on Monday. I wonder how these cold wet days are gonna affect his germination and emergence.

Nothing happening here, It was just getting dry from the 15" of snow two weeks ago. 1/4" rain yesterday, 30 degrees/ rain this morning/ snow this afternoon. 10 day forecast calls for rain next week. We need the moisture here, but its time to geter done. May 1 is optimum planting date here. (sw-Mn)

Got one field prepared. Picked rocks yesterday, UGH! Ready to roll out the grain drill this weekend. Forecast for next week, possible snow! One forecast model says up to a foot. Don"t believe it. Holding off today, got 1/3 inch of rain last nite, and more forecast today.
