i have a TO-30 and am trying to see if anyone has
used the foam sealant for the front tires. I get lots of flats from small mesquite trees that I am bushhogging. I dont know whether to try the foam filling option or to get some regular truck rims and tires that match the bolt pattern. this tractor is great for farm maintanence, but the flat tires is a real pain.

i put two new tires on the front of my tractor and then the guy i do shredding for asked me to shred about twenty acres. mesquite growth ate me up with flats, bought a gallon of slime and split it between the tires and problem solved. cost $30.00 plust tax @ auto parts store
good luck

questions on how much foam ????? in reply to to-30, 03-31-2008 16:03:13
I am thinking of feeling my front tires with foam on my tractor. Was wondering how many cans of foam each tire might take? Do I buy it from the auto store are where? Thanks for any help.

Best money you'll ever spend on your tractor. I had ALL of the small tires filled on our place years ago. Wheelbarrow, handtrucks, garden wagon, riding mower & trailer, etc. You can't imagine how much lost TIME you save. My advice is to do it asap.

The foam works great also adds weight to the front end and no more flats forever.

How about used airplane tires; there's a place in Texas (Genesco, maybe) that sells just the tires or mounted tires..... ....at very reasonable prices. Had some on front of tractor and also four on bat-wing mower; NEVER had a flat.

When you say foam filled , I assume you mean completely filled . I have an IH 806 with a Westendorf loader on the front. I was constantly getting flat front tires. I had them filled about 5 years ago. It has worked well for me. If you drive on hard surfaces it can be bumpy. I expect it is a little harder on the front end. I was glad I did it. No more flats. Two less tires to check . You will also get weight. You won't believe how heavy they are. The 806 tires took two big men to lift 18 inches up onto the flatbed trailer. guess 150 to 200 lb.

I have thought about the same thing. After over 20 patches on one tube I finally replaced it. I patch my own tires so I am only out the time. Last time I priced having them filled it was around 85.00 Stan

Steel wheels, maybe?

I know what you're going through. I used my H Farmall and loader to dig out a bunch of plum bushes once, and spent the next two years fixing flat tires caused by thorns that worked their way through the rubber, even if they didn't cause a flat immediately. I should have just put new front tires on it when I was done.
