Another vote for staying away from McScrew.

Try Renaissance Tractor in Chehalis, WA- (360) 748-0026. 2 cyl JD parts, and Al is the guru of two cyl. diesel injector pump rebuilding.

Polk and McGrew have just about got the two cylinder market sewed up. I'm getting rid (one way or the other) of all my two cylinder stuff and bid all these hogs farewell.

It's a good thing you figured it out before it's too late. This is a great hooby but some just try to take advantage of us.

I see their Ebay auctions all the time though I've never dealt with them - too far from me.
So I don't have a dog in this fight.
But in their defense, they have nearly 7000 transactions on Ebay and 70 negative feedbacks. That's about 1% negative which I think is pretty darned good since we all know some folks wouldn't be happy if you gave the part to them.
Most of their stuff they start out at 99 cents and just let the bidders determine what it's worth. On Ebay at least they seem to be pretty fair traders.

The hunt for parts for a tractor is part of the fun. It gives you another reason to go to shows and swap meets if you"re looking for the parts that you need for a project. Mcgrews and other parts guys are convenient if you need a part, but it just isn"t as much fun as finding a bargain and you will often pay 4 times as much if you buy from them versus shopping around a little.

I emailed them about a rim and a shifter quadrant for my JD 820. They wanted $250 for a used rim (same or more than new) and $250 for the quadrant (worth no more than $50). They own the parts, so they can set the price, but I won"t shop with them again.

Also, they are kinda hosing Ebay- they auction a headlight, but show it attached to a parts tractor, which they describe in the ad. That"s a sleazy way to advertise the whole tractor, without paying Ebay. Again, it"s their business- I just won"t deal with them.

I thought they had some deals at first when they started listing things on Ebay but I see now they only have buy it now stuff on there. Otherwise I always thought they were over priced also.

Assuming they are the outfit in Pa., I notice their ads for complete tractors on ebay they are charging a buyer's premimum. I try to avoid auctions locally with BPs, but on ebay? No way.
