Sorry I missed your original thread. I have a 2006 Chevy Colorado, 4x4, extended cab, 5 cylinder. Great little truck, highly recommend it for a daily driver. I get around 25 mpg on the highway and no less than 20 around town. It pulls my 4-wheeler and trailer no problem. I have had not one issue with the truck and have 46,000 miles currently on it. I drive a lot for work and have found the truck to be cummfy on long rides, pretty quiet on the highway, and rides nice. I don't think it would make the best daily use farm truck or work truck. If it will be a secondary farm vehicle with something more heavy duty for towing/hard use then it would be fine.

I'm getting better at it myself. I've put my foot in my mouth one too many times on here. Sometimes though, there'll be a subject that I'm just too passionate about and some jack @ss will say something just too stupid.

You have to understand that most of the yokels (wanna bee 'farmers', yuppies with their 1 acre 'ranch', or small time gardeners) on here are far from being the sharpest tack in the box.

"You have to understand that most of the yokels (wanna bee "farmers", yuppies with their 1 acre "ranch", or small time gardeners) on here are far from being the sharpest tack in the box."

That"s kind of funny coming from someone that can"t post with his real name. Just because some people here don"t have 1000 acres and 10 tractors doesn"t make them stupid or ignorant. And I believe the term "yokel" refers to someone FROM the country, not someone from the city. If you have a statement to make about an individual that"s fine, just don"t go making blanket statements without fact.

Kinda hard to aim a pipe bomb. ;^) As always most of the guys here are great, but a few need to size their underoos a couple sizes bigger so they can relax without the permanent wedgie. If I'm not interested in someone's OT post I'll just pass over it instead of giving the guy grief.

An old Army buddy of mine used to say that when certain people always seem to irritate you, there's a problem. And the problem is YOURSELF. Don't let other people live rent free inside your head. If they have irritating ways, that's their deal. Let 'em be.

Another old saying, courtesy of Mark Twain, that I can't remember word for word, goes something like, "A wise man never argues with a fool, as the casual observer can't tell the difference".

I think what you are experiencing is some insecurity in your life. To get so worked up over some minor comments makes me think you have deeper issues that you are avoiding.

Are you secure with your seksuality? Do you feel as though you were born the wrong gender? Do you have issues with the green snobs?

I think you should see a therapist.

I have noticed it on other discussion boards about woodworking that I frequent. People are VERY touchy.

Lighten up Francis. Spring shall soon be upon us.

Same IP address as Lanse, Oh? Hmmmmm, you live near the little feller? Who was that guy that had the same IP address as the two of you (Lanse and you) that was bad mouthing the rest of us folks here? Guess I should leave my nose in my own business. Have your opinions, I know I've got plenty of my own. Let folks say just what they want. As long as you know what's right and wrong, should it really matter, notadeere?

I'm sure sorry if I offended you in any way. I hadn't much of an idea on how those IP's worked... guess that I should've taken a hint and kept my mouth shut. But at the same time, everyone needs to not read into things quite so much. Take my words for what they are. I'm not that deep that I can put more meaning to my words then their definiton. Simply asking a question. Which I now have answered. Thank you. I didn't jump to conclusions about you, or anyone else. Whew, this cabin fever is starting to make us fellers itchy at the collar.

ya i know Jim it shouldnt bother me but... also it reminds me of a earlier post of someone called welder man & eng man & something else man, was more likely all the same person that had nothing real to say & just wanted to annoy people worse than a 4 yr old can do.... I am the type person that if i dont know something i dont say something its better to leave it alone than to dump salt on a open cut but some of these kids coming in here ..... ..

Your comment about snot nosed kids puts you in the same category. I posted as Farmer Man and as is turned out, cleared the whole thing up. A 15 year old made a slight mistake and myself and others jumped on him like vultures. I believed something strange was going on with Lanse's IP address coming up on some bad posts. Lanse confirmed it. A 15 year old has just as much right to be on here as you do! I don't remember seeing anywhere that you had to be a specific age to come on. You assumed way to much. You should be big enough to take a little razzn' without going off the deep end? Dave

IP addresses do NOT mean identity. in reply to jim from ND, 02-18-2008 19:46:04
For the last time, IP addresses do not indicate a specific identity. Want proof? Go look at a post that you maybe replied to, say, a week or so ago, and compare it with the one you just posted.

I assume that's because the IP's used here are dynamically allocated (DHCP). If they become stagnent or dorment long enough...reassigned. Or perhaps the server used here does it as a matter of routine maintenance as DHCP servers often are setup to do. I clean my cookies regularly as a matter of maintenance so don't keep getting ads from Sears, Home Depot, or whoever that hits on them and then slams with ads for their products because I'm assumed to be a fan instead of an occasional looker...and that'll often get me a newly assigned IP address.

You might want to research that statement a little better.

Some ISPs use dynamic IPs so the addresses change but others use a static IP and it often won`t change until the modem is down powered. Checking IPs is a legitimate method of weeding out scoundrels and even if they have a dynamic IP you can usually still find them in the same range. The ISPs can tell you exactly who had any specific IP at a given time.
