Found on Russian Dump, first on race day, first on real dirt, I could go on and on, too. Guess why I hear 'em? Always a fresh one around...

Now don't cuss too loud at that poor little N.
You'll hurt it's feelings.
Just put some new brushes in that starter and get it a manifold.
Come spring or summer, compared to it's long, tall cousins the JDs, IHs and ACs you'll find that you really like that agile, nimble little Ford.

And put bushings (bearings) in that 8N starter. It can't crank with the armature dragging on the pole pieces. I had an 8N 3 or so years ago and it needed bushings. Then it started good. Wasn't useful for what I wanted but I ran OK.

These cold days,it doesn't pay to get ambitious. Biggest cold day screw up I ever made out of boredome was when I had an overhead gas barrel, about 2/3s full that I wanted moved to a different location. I should have been in the house where it was warm, but NO,I had to move it that day. I cracked it. Sent me scrambling for barrels. It was so cold, that if it had been water,it would have been frozen,no two ways about it. Instead it froze my fingers. A couple of them were numb for a couple of weeks.
