Anybody have any opinions on Gravely ZTR's? I am thinking about looking at a used 152Z. 128 hours, 52 inch deck and 21 horsepower, I don't know what brand engine. I looked this model over on the web and it looked like it was built pretty well and had some nice features. But that was their website, so of course it looks good.

Thanks for any opinions or input.

Thanks guys,

It's 2-2.5 hours one-way so I really wanted to be sure that it would be worth my time to go look at it and hopefully buy it all in one trip. Asking price is $4800 and it says that it is a 2007. Also it says CPU ready? Some commercial computer program hook-up maybe?

Heck if I know. Looks like it could be a good deal.

Thanks again.

Very well built machines, They have good parts availability. The only downside is there are not a lot of dealers to get parts and service from. I used to be a dealer and now I see why they do not have a lot of dealers. Go to their web site and see of there are any dealers around, blades, and engine parts can be got any where, but they use some odd sized belts and idlers, that makes it hard to get aftermarket belts on and get to last, and one last thing, their parts are a bit pricey compared to other manufacturers. But from a quality stand point, they are built good, and that machine should have the individual pumps and wheel moters and not the cheap hydro transaxles. Unless it is a 2006, it will have a 23hp Kawasaki enigne on it, the 2006 could have a 25hp Kohler engine on it. Book value is in the $3400.00-$6000.00 range depending on age.

I bought a new 260 Z about 5 years ago. I haven't mowed my yard since. My wife just about fist fights me for it. It's a blast to run. I have done nothing but changed oil and cleaned the air filter and my wife mows about two acres of yard every week. The hydros are tough and responsive and like one of the respondents said "they are acommercial machine". Worth every penny. I used to buy the cheap throw aways and always threw them away. I figure another couple a years and I'll be money ahead. My machine runs a 25 h.p. Kawasaki. If you can get it reasonable do it you'll never regret it.

I have the PM152Z, 52" deck and a 23 hp Kawasaki. I use this machine commercially and have quite afew hours on it. It has been trouble free so far. It has an excellent cut. I will buy another when it needs to be replaced. I do keep it serviced and blades sharp.

Well, they're a comercial unit that's actually built here in the USA yet, and most of the parts are made here too as far as I am aware.

They're actually made by Ariens, located in Brillion, Wisconsin. Only about 1/2 hour from the farm.

I bought a small 15 hp 34 " cut two seasons ago with Kohler engine. I have a 75'x145' lot and it works very good. My wife now uses it while I am on my Kubota and bush hog.

We have two at work, don't remember the model, but they are 25 hp. or 26 hp. liquid cooled Kawasaki's. I think a 50 or 52 inch deck. Two seasons of cutting in campgrounds, poor grass, rough, sticks, etc. So far, they are excellent.
