I need to buy two front tires for my IH656. It turns out they are just too dry rotted. What brands do you recommend as the best and how much do they cost?

Thanks,

Joe

They are 7.5Lx15 or 7.50x16. 750x16 being far more common on the 656's. 7.5Lx15 should cost about 66.00 each put on and 750x16 should cost around 71 or 72.00 each put on. This price would not include the tube or disposal of the old tire. I am no longer in the tire business but Firestone were the brand we prefered to sell. They had a heaver casing than most of the other brands.

I believe you are correct that it is the 7.5L x 15 from Firestone. I would like to know where you guys are getting your prices because around me they want $110 for the tire alone!

Can you guys please tell me where you are buying them that cheap!

Joe

Yes, the tire was inflated for about two weeks after bringing it home but when I went out this morning it was flatter then a pancake. I re-inflated it and it comes out faster then it goes in. The sidewall just completely came apart and has about a one inch long crack that goes all of the way through.

Replacing because they just don't hold air anymore? Our loader tractor (massey 165) has one American Farmer on it and I think the other is Akuret (something like that). Both came from the local tire store that doesn't sell Firestone ag tires anymore, but they've been on for quite a while already. Both are dry rotted and cracked, but that's what we expect when they're almost constantly covered in manure.

Either way they're 3 rib, and for a tire that narrow it isn't worth putting a 4 rib on there. We have luck with any brand that holds air and goes 'round. I did put a pair of Carlisle 7.50-16's on my Oliver when I rebuilt it, and so far they still look pretty nice.
