We just got the speech again reminding us that we are NOT to accept any cash gifts. Our postmaster is telling us that any cash we get needs to be turned in to her so she can put it in the system as other revenue, like for instance postage dues are. Just do us a favor, and PLEASE don't leave any cash or cash equivalent like gift cards or even scratch off cards for the lottery. USPS is getting so sneaky about this that somewhere every year a carrier gets fired from stuff they have planted that did not get turned in. Just thought you should know. DOUG

Can I mail my present to my carrier's home address? The USPS actually gets the package and delivers it to the proper recipient.

Doug,
I know what you are saying. I have a guy that comes in from the State of Illinois, Department of Agriculture. I give away pens, key chains, little pockets knives, you know little trinkets. Gave the guy a couple of pens, or a little pocket knife or something, he gave it back, said thanks, but no thanks, the State of Illinois calls that a form of bribery and did not want to jeopordize his job over a 5 cent ink pen. There must be so many crooked politicians that they had to stop everyone from receiving "gifts" I personally think it is a crock to penalize the guys like you that deliver the mail, and in crappy conditions at time.

Jim

I solve that problem every year. I don't give him anything.

Never take cash, however we are able to accept things worth up to 10 or 20 dollars. Just no gift cards or cash period. Doug don't we have some of the nicest and yet some of the grouchiest customers out there?
I really like getting out and seeing them on the route. The rest of it ( the casing, the certified, the registered, etc, etc, etc.)well, that's another story.

Have a great and SAFE day.

How about a 3 day old fish.
Man I worked 30 years for the government and once got a tip or anything from anyone.

How about a plate of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies with nuts? Would that be politically correct?
