A look at one of my hayfields and my main rig, the JD 2950 and NH664 baler. We had to wait till later than usual to get the last cut and it was tough to get it dry, but it always looks so good once those fields are cut. I am finished with all field work for the year - hay is cut and stored, corn is all picked and in grain bin, all pastures have been clipped and corn stalks have been chopped with bushog.

Now on to winter projects!

Nice photo; Could make a nice picture puzzle. Amazing year for hay here in s.w. Pa. Baled hay May 10th and October 31st. and about every third day between. 11,605 small squares and 206 big rounds. And I'm the only fool in America that hauled all 11,605 with a pick-up truck! Handled all 11,000 at least twice-once onto the truck and once into the barn(s), and most days by myself-and that was after I raked it and baled it. No fool like an old fool. Actually I kind of enjoy the exercise and am thankful at my age to be able to throw hay.

11,000 small squares by yourself- that's just remarkable! If I ever even thought of doing that, I'd try to lie down 'til the idea passed! Around here, 11,000 bales would translate to about $40,000, so pretty good compensation for a summer's work, even after expenses.

A guy near here (N. central Oh.) just finished small squares. Don't see that that around here in Nov. very often.
