My father bought one 30 yrs or so ago. Great little tractor. His has power steering and can turn on a dime. Parts aren't bad. My only complaint is that it has a short stroke, higher RPM engine so it runs out of snot sooner than I'd like. Won't pull A DISK FOR ANYTHING...Super A will out pull it there. But for general chore use they are great. A tad thirsty, but not bad. The whole time he's had it the only real repair was leaking break seals. Very durable, and will always, always start easily no matter how cold out. Mike

Yours must not be a triple range with a 12 speed. My dad had one back in the 50's and 60's. I remember one time when I was a kid he took it to a plowing match. He was plowing behind a farmall A (not a super) and it slowed him down. He pulled around it and passed it with the plow still in the ground. He chopped silage with it for about 15 years. You could not choke it down in 9' corn. That hand clutch sure came in handy though. I have never seen a Farmall A pull a corn chopper. Maybe it would.

They are good little tractors. I have one the has been very dependable. They are not very common, but by no means rare. I think the production numbers were around 8,000. They were only made for two years (1956 and 1957 I think) before Case changed from the round nose to the square nose. Some parts, especially sheet metal and guages are very hard to find. The only complaint I have from mine is that it is hard to steer.
