Hello: First time on this site and I am looking for a little help, My son and I have a 154 lo-boy with a cab and front end loader, used mostly for the winter months and bring in wood. We seem to
have a problem with the two wooden brake pads that are suppose to help the clutch stop. We were them out in about one to two running of the tractor, and I have not been able to figure out why, if anyone had any ideas, please let me know. I have spoken to one person who thought it might be and aligment problem drive shaft to clucth, still looking into that. again any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks for listening to me' Steve

I am no expert but I set mine kind of loose compaired to the manual spec. If the tractor is in neutral and say running at full throttle (I always throttle down when I shift), it will take a few seconds for the brake to stop that flywheel also, the tractor still rolls after I step on the clutch. I replaced the brake pad holder ( not cheap) and it made a big difference even though, mine looked fine.

If the clutch (main engine clutch) is dragging or not disengaging correctly (out of adjustment or warped) that will cause it. Not pushing the clutch as indicated in the manual will cause it. Coasting down hill using it to stop, or rolling in gear with it applied will cause it. Good luck, JimN
