I was just looking at the Cub Cadet web site to try and find out which compacts were made where. I didn't find that out , but did see a link to the all new Cub Cadet/Yanmar tractors ! I thought Deere had them locked up ?

I had heard that some of the cubs were made in USA all but the engines.

Ive got a new 3720 and I am 90 percent sure that its a Yanmar engine in it. Nice strong tractor, had I not got a great deal on it I wouldnt have bought it, very pricey.

I had a 1050 Deere I ran for years and Yanmar built the whole machine. I don't know where the love affair between Deere and Yanmar went wrong...but I wish yanmar would build them all! That was a fine tractor in all respects. It lacked a few things I would have preferred, but I am sure it was built to Deere's specs. Power steering was a dealer add on, it had dry drum brakes and needed to weigh about another thousand pounds. Given either disc or wet brakes and power steering...you would have the finest mowing and small chore tractor ever made. And..it was stout. They claimed 33 PTO horses and mine made 37 off the dealer lot.It also had a Yuasa battery in it and get this...it lasted 17 years! Yanmar builds lots and lots of marine diesels....good outfit.

Yanmar still builds a few models for Deere, like the 2320 and 2520.

I hear ya. Dad has a 750 model bought new. We never had any problems with it not even the brakes. It came with one of those Yuasa batteries too and it last very long and not one drop of corrosion either. First battery we put in for replacement leaked out and eat up the paint and I was P oed ! As I really took care of this tractor and it still looks like new. I had to touch up the paint. Ours made alot more power than rated too. The later Yanmar engines are smaller and run faster RPM and I don't think they hold up as well.I had a 755 that had a leaky head gasket. Uncle had a 330 lawn mower that seemed like alot of blowby for it's care and hours.

Some of the Deere tractors I looked at at Empire Farm Days had tags on them that said assembled in India.

I worked on a 950 Deere a few years ago that belonged to a local Church. Said Yanmar right on the tag of the little bugger.
