I need to get a good 30-35 HP utility tractor. I tried to stay with older units like MF 135, or Ford Hundred series, but down here in Louisiana, what is available is flat wore out. I would also like something made in USA if possible.

Have you looked at your state farm bulletin? Plenty of tractor ads there.

Thanks guys for all the info.

Plan A: Look in ads up north for an older tractor.
Plan B: Buy a Kubota.

I don't think you can buy a tractor under 50hp ( or maybe 100hp) made in the US. And it has been that way since to 60's or 70's. Ford stopped making tractors in the US about 1981, when they converted the Romeo plant over to car engine production. But I think that was higher hp tractors. Massey Ferguson had a machining plant in Detroit, but that went out in the 80's. The under 50hp class is all over there!

I do not have much experiance with new tractors that small. I have had more than my share of time with equipment at my old job with Kubota engines. I can say that a Kubota engine will do things a 30 to 40 hp engine should NEVER be asked to do. We ran them in the worst of worst conditions, the hydrolics would freeze up 10 degrees before they would not start. I can go on and on about the abuse they receved, we blew some up but it took some work to do it!

Take it from me who boughta new New Holland and also bought older MF, Get yourself a Kubota and don't look back. The Kubota is tough as nails, 2 neighbors have them; better engineered than New Holland. Tom

I dont know where they're made, but I have a New Holland TZ25DA, and loke it. If I were lookin for something 30-35hp, and had some money, I'd look at the New Holland TC30 or TC35. Great machines, just too big for what Im doin. I love New Holland and Farmall.

If you get one made here it will be an old one or a big one. Don't know if anyone makes a small tractor here now days or not. You may want to come north a bit to find a good used one. Lots of them here in Ky. Even those were not made here.

The John Deere 3000 series and larger tractors are made in Georgia. They 3000 series are in the 30 - 35 hp range.

They are assembled in the US, just like the Kubotas that are assembled in Ga. Other than the Kubota BX series (about 20HP and smaller) ther are NO tractors under 80 HP made in the US. I collect and restore antique tractors and love John Deere, and acknowledge the fact that they make one of the if not THE best large farm tractor currently made, their utility tractors cannot stand up to a Kubota, PERIOD! I won't bore you to death with my experience in selling, using, buying, and fixing several brands of compact and utility, I just tell it like it is!

Are they actually made in Georgia? Or just assembled in Georgia with parts made in India, China, or Mexico? I"m not saying they are or are not, but if they are built totally in the U.S., they would be the only one.

I didn't know if they were still making them there or not. I did think that some use to be made in Tennessee, Maybe 5200,5300 and so on.
