I have a bad gear box on a bush hog no idea what make it is. There is a number on the gear box (WA47 010). Does anyone have any idea what or where i might find one or some information on this gear box.

I went looking for an oil seal for mine

dealer had rebuilt gear boxes for several brands sitting on the floor, could bring yours in and exchange it on the spot

you might have local dealers that do the same, ask around a bit

If its a BUSHHOG brand go to their website, you can download the whole manual for the mower there.
I did mine and printed it out to have in the shop

I just went down the same road you are on. I have a Bushhog brand cutter and stripped the gears in the box. From what I was told at the parts counter it is most often cheaper to buy a whole new box than try to fix the one you have. It seems to me that those box's are fairly universal and I picked up an aftermarket 40HP box for around $100. The Bushhog brand box was more expensive, and probably better, but I beat the crap out of this thing anyways so figured what the heck.

Aside from the economics of the matter, those things are aggravating to tear into, alot easier to just swap em out. I got mine from Agri-supply. Best of luck----Peabo

yeah, If it is a "bush hog" brand, Goggle bush hog.

If it is not, google 'rotary mower' or 'rotary cutter'.

I just did all of this 3 days ago.

YOu can also search my name in the FORD and IMPLEMENT forums to read what the others told me...sl
