Was the trip by that 284 as nerve racking as that 1066 was? (:~})

Oh Yeah,

Tractor, a full and complete set of manuals, lots of spare parts and two ribeye steaks. When that Sloroll sells a tractor, he doesn't mess around! :>)

One trouble tho, I gotta quit playin' with this darned little tractor and get that old swather drug up to the shop. Ain't enough hours in the day anymore. :>)

Yeah,

He didn't tell me that the air conditioner didn't work. :>)

Unloaded it off the trailer and immediately cut 2 acres of grass. Now, it's good and dirty just like the rest of my old tractors. :>)

Gary, I had to chuckle when you called that 284 the baby, I can see the proud parents now... mom 966 and dad 1066 looking on with pride.
Hope it made it alright Allan.
Matthew

Allan,
Always liked those 284s nice look and stance.

But I have an announcement... your 1066 is not the father. I have enclosed a picture of the real father of your 284. Just look at the tires, there is no denying the resemblance!!!

Oh and visitation is required, so load 'er back up and ship her to Michigan for the summer. Please have the blades sharpened too, 7 acres a week will it busy.

Any way good luck, nice looking machine. You can never have to many tractors no matter what brand.

Rick

That looks like a late 70's early 80's, later version of the 2110 or 4110. Us hill dwellers really like those, add a r.o.p.s. about as safe as you can get, although with the wide stance and low center of gravity, never have to worry about working on most slopes with them, they are great mowing tractors, Ford did seem to go after and capture that market, state and local highway dept, golf courses (local course still has one we sold) we used to have the early 70's models of those on the lot, new, like you said, can't have too many, and that is one model that I would like to add one of those to the collection for working on these hills.

Ford made a bunch of LCG tractors but so did Massey and probably others. I wouldn't say Ford captured the market though. Dave
