Is there any harm in liquid filling the front tires also? some have said it it is harder on steering system, but I don't know if it is any worse than adding wheel weights to fronts. Any thoughts out there?

My father-in-law had a 1566. It was turned up and would pull along side just about anything around. If you could keep the front tires on the ground. We filled the front tires with fluid. It sure made a smooth rider out of that tractor. Pulled even better with the tires full. Kept them tight to the ground. turned on a dime.

I got a 1030 case with front weights AND fluid in the front tires. works fine but just be sure you don't have a valvestem leak. but then again that tractor has back weights and fluid in back too. i haven't had problems with te front end yet. Knock on wood (knocks on computer desk) my 2 cents

I'm running foam in the fronts, adds considerable weight while completely eliminating flats. Serves both purposes quite well.

I haven't found any problems with it yet. Weight is weight.
I would use cast if it's possible to do so, but if cast won't give enough weight, add CaCl.

Could cause a lot of damaging rust.

Father-in-law ran fluid in the front tires on his 2-180 White for a few years. Wheel bearings lasted about a year. He switched to cast iron weights hung out front and has had the same wheel bearings for around 12 years now, I believe.

Bearings were the same brand/type each time they were replaced...

Can someone explain the logic to this. since adding fluid puts no additional weight on bearings and front end weights do. this just doesn't make since.

A lot depends on the tractor as to if it will help or not. One a tractor like the N series fords it can help a little because the front ends are very light on them.

The only tractor I don't run liquid in the front is my loader tractor. Back when we raised tobacco I put liquid in and wheel weights on 140 farmalls. It was a must to keep the front end from drifting on the hill sides. Never had any problems with front end wear. Those 140's had no power steering and made it a little harder to turn the steering wheel but it would sure help holding it on a row.
