I have 1957 Ford 600 Series Tractor that I need to change the fluids out in the transmission and rear end. I have put 200 hours on the tractor since I purchased it 6 years ago. I am going to change out the fluids and need to know any pointers and or fluid recommendations. Thanks

The 600 has 3 places in it to put oil in that area. #1 the tranny,#2 the hyds, #3 the rear end. In the tranny you can use either the hy/tran type oil or 80W oil. In the hyds you can use Hy/tran type oil and the rear end 80W or 80W-140. Some times its better to use the Hy/Tran type oil in the tranny because the seal between the to will leak and mix the 2 oils

on the IH side of the house HyTran has replaced gear oil. Those several hundred HP tractors use HYTran in the rear end. The 30 or so you'll get out of this one shouldn't be a problem. Farmall M's and H's can use HY Tran.

Post this over on the Ford Board, or the 9N, 2N, 8N board...You'll get all the info you need.

Also check the top left side of this site, manuals are available for your tractor...
