I had my Carb rebuilt from my 80 Ford F 350. It has a Motocraft two barrel. I got it home last week and gas was not getting into the float chamber. I took it back, he said something was wrong with the float? Reinstalled it got it to idle fairly good. Now between 15, and 30 mph it runs real rough. If I stomp it it wll take the gas real good. Is this problem be a bad rebuild? I need my truck to run right is one reason I took it to someone who should know what he is doing. Here in Calif we have some very tough smog laws, and a motor needs to run correct or it is not licensed. Stan

Is everything else ok ? Timing, Vac hose routing . Egr opening too soon ?? Try disconnecting vac line to egr,see if it still does it? If all checks out , possible bad power valve , or low float , plugged jet ? Take carb off, do not trip over , take out 4 screws holding power valve cover on , check for any gas dripping out . If there is, valve is shot , or gasket torn . Over tightening kills these . Check float , remove carb top , see if float moves free.Push down on needle end , should have roughly 1/4 to 3/8 from top of carb to top of float . These are very forgiving on float settings . Keep us posted

After paying 260.00 to have this crb rebuilt I kind of hate to try and fix it myself. I am giong to talk to the guy who rebuilt it tomorrow. In the meantime I got a present from the DMV to renew my license, but first I need to go to smog test only station. They hook it up and if it doesn't pass they can't adjust anything. They say go have it fixed and bring it back for another 40.00 test. This smog crap is the biggest ripoff here in Calif I have seen for older vehicles. A friend of mine just paid almost 1000.00 to have his work truck repaired to pass the test. I realize we can.t have smoke bombs on our roads I guess this does get rid of them.Stan

He does not have something wright . Could be the wrong power valve low float setting ???/ don't know as i am not the one working on it . Could even have a crack inside the carb. Rebuilt many of them in years gone by along with a semi load of holleys .
