I'm looking for a front end loader for my 1956 Ford 600. I'm not sure how a front end loader attachs to the tractor or how hydraulics are run. Any information or direction to resources would be appreciated.

Thanks

When you install the loader be sure the spindle bushings and bearings in the front end of the 600 are in good shape. Inflate the front tires to max pressure.

I would also have at least antifreeze/water in the rear tires.

Make sure the brakes are in good shape, especially if you work on hills.

I learned all this the hard way.

My friend has a loader for a Jubilee at my place and he is trying to sell it. E mail me if still interested and you think it will fit. Put ford loader in the subject so I won't delete it as spam

There is a Ford loader (model 730 I think) on the "tractor photo ad" board, no bucket, needs paint but it should fit. It is ad #171724 dated 4-17-07. The 730 is a strong loader with a front crankshaft mounted pump and at the asking price of $500.00 it might be worth consideration.

There is a loader on craigslist for an 8N - that might fit a 600.

It is in New Hampshire.

Watch ebay . Once in awhile I see one on there. You want one that is a walk thru type . I have a model 19-97 that I'm hoping to install someday . But remember if you don't have PS the loader will make steering hard . Also check the front pivot pin to make sure its ok first . Mine needs replaced badly . I may have a lead for you but email me if interested . callj.j.s@verizon.net . God bless , ken

Best loader set up for that is one with its own pump , tank and controls. The pump can be run off the PTO or the front crank shaft pulley, the one that runs off the crank again is better then PTO type.

Yup, I'll second what Old said.

It's REALLY nice to have the independent hydraulics that a separate pump and tank will give you. And a pump that runs off the FRONT CRANK is much, much, better then running off the PTO (leaves the PTO free to power other stuff). And, to me at least, power steering is almost a neccessaty. Otherwise, it takes all the fun out of tractorin'! Good luck!
