Want faster hydraulics: Have an old Leyland 270 which I mounted a loader. The hydraulics are too slow. The pump is internal and is operating normally. Is here anyway to speed things up?

Could you have a restriction in a filter?

You have to go to an external pump & reservoir to get a higher flow rate. With the existing pump, the only way to increase the flow is to speed up the engine.

I am going to assume that the fluid is clean etc. Speed is a function of flow or gallons per minute. You could add a Vickers pump to the crank on the front of the engine.

Or you can put smaller cylinders on your loader making it weaker but faster.
