Need help identifing what type of loader I have. I'll try to post a picture under help identify in a few days when I get the digital camera.

Bought a JD 4030, I think it's a 1974. Loader came with it, same vintage. Hooks to the SVC's in the back. Sets on stands when taken off. Mounting system bolts to the underneath of tractor in front of the operators platform. Sits in a cradle, kinda like a JD 148, but with two guide holes and pins and then one big bolt/pin from the back of the cradle (Head of bolt towards step/rear tire) Was painted JD green but underneath is kind of an orangish/creme color. Any ideas? Can't find a serial number tag anywhere! HELP!

DJ,

A picture would really help 'cause there are a lot of different loader manufacturers.

Farmhand built a lot of loaders back in that era for dealers and painted 'em the color of the tractor they were going on.

Yours kinda "sounds like" a F-235 or F-236, but would have to see it to be sure. Also, the John Deere loaders and the Farmhands look an awfully lot alike.

Thanks Allen. I"ll try to post soon. The loader has been welded on and beefed up, and a farmer paint job of JD green. Any idea where to look for a serial number tag if it is a Farmhand?

Is Farmhand still in business?

Yep, they sure are. AGCO owns 'em now.

I'll see if I can find you a tag location next time I go out to the farm (Just came in, it's snowin' like crazy here).
