They will probably be back so stick a tracker in one of the remaining bales. Oops, that would be an invasion of the crooks privacy!

Yep...had them take it right out of the barn back in Indiana. Took 400 bales over a weekend in Nov.
Got me a real nasty renter in the house there now. No rent, just take care of the place and call my brother-in-law if there is a problem.
Haven't heard a whisper since.
Sister says the place is neat, one barn painted and has not looked that good in years.
Big old boy, bib overalls, 270 LBS, born and raised in the West Vigirnia mountians. Needed a place close to his sister because of her health problems.
I weigh 250 and 6"4" tall and don't think I want to take him on.
Big old boy.....

One of our neighbors had the hay stolen from his barn while he was in Florida last winter, so last summer he just had the hay field bush hogged. What I don't understand is why he hadn't sold the hay since he no longer has livestock and was planning on going south for the winter.

I'm sirprised I haven't heard of any hay getting stolen around here. Alot of the hay in this area is going south into Missouri and once a buyer knows where the hay is it wouldn't be hard to come back for another load in the middle of the night. We've got about a 100 round bales sitting along the side of a dirt road about 6 miles from home that would be an easy target but so far they've been fine. They are stacked two rows tall so there's no way to get them without either a loader or going to alot of work to pull one off the top row. Luckily the rest of our square bales are either in a barn 50' from our house or in a barn surrounded by mud so that even a 4wd truck will struggle to get backed up to it. We are going to build another hay barn before summer that will be setup to easily back semi's into but easy access for semi's means easy access for anybody else as well.

Yeah,

That's how Pete's hay is stacked too. Way, way out in the middle of nowhere and they took from the far end of the field.

He said that they used a heavy pickup with one of those bale swings on it. Pulled one bottom corner bale, the top bale would then roll down in it's place.

Also said that he could see there tracks where they had pulled in the yard and had came to the door. Must have figured since he wasn't home, what the heck.

your new easy access hay barn could also be a great big dog house. good place to have a big old nasty farm dog to live in.

here in so. Mn. some low life gets his pickup stuck in ditch at the end of guys driveway. about 2 weeks ago. goes toguys house and steels his suv to pull himself out. gets suv stuck also so gets mad and walks back to guys house and murders guy and 13 yr. old son. shoots wife but she survived. is in criticle care. he then walks to neighbors house and steels his p.u. and drives home to nearby village. police pick him up minutes later. charge him with murder among other things. lowlife claims the gun went off accidently. thing is each victom was shot several times. seams odd to me that a gun could go off accidently several times but that is what he is saying. I don't even own a gun so I don't know. is that possible?

NOW THAT is a case of not even wasting $ on a trial or jail, that SOB needs to be brought out in the woods, hung by his nutts, for a few hour till hes learned what waiting is, then shot. Coyotes are hungry this year in MN.

What is the the deal with people like this, we had a guy who was "hired help" at our place, had plenty of money in the bank, drove a garbage scow of a vehicle, loaded with trash, no personal hygene, personally thought he was worthless for what he did at the place, for whatever reason, he had been there for years too, long story, but he was around before we were involved. Then I see bales of hay in his truck, and fuel cans, not only was he milking the paycheck, but was stealing to boot, now I raised hell about it, it took almost a year to convince them he's got to go.

Can't imagine taking advantage of a guy like that, while he's laid up in the hospital, but don't worry, what goes around comes around, those people usually get theirs when they least expect it.

the busted jaw and relocated nose i'd have given that so called "hired help" woulda convinced him in a lot less than a year that it was time to go.

I hear that, only problem is then I'd have been answering criminal charges, the wind would have knocked this guy over, a real weasle type. I'll call this the year I got involved at the place, and sometimes it's hard to do things when other people call the shots, but I made them aware of it, he knew it was coming sooner or later. The worst was the stealing aspect of it, and the fact that had bragged about his money, even showing others a copy of his statement.

Had another one, who almost did activate the already short fuse, I decided to warm up on a dumpster first, then told him he's next, lucky it got diffused, problem is, as much as you'd like to smack the crap out of a jerk, the judge is gonna see it in his favor, so regardless of what happens, just can't cross the line without paying, these people are waiting to sue, so they don't have to work anymore, that is the problem. the whole thing is a catch 22, hard to make enough off the place to pay better, so the people you can get, are usually less than desirable.

Most times if you ask or explain to someone that you are in a bind, legitimately so, ( not feeding a crack habit etc.) someone will help you, need hay or something, ask first, but when you just steal, you become a real low-life.

A story in a Colorado front range newspaper a few weeks ago told of a farmer who was loosing hay out of his stacks to thieves. One night he caught them in the act at one of his stacks with a loaded pickup. Two men ran and left the pickup. He wasn"t too worried as he had their pickup and could trace them.WRONG, the pickup was stolen too! Makes you want to shoot first, and then ask questions.

We lost 45 big round bales out of the field a couple years ago. The thief even used our tractor after he broke the lock off the shed to get in.

Turned out to be a local dairy farmer that to this day denies that he was in the wrong. He showed the Sheriff a cancelled check from 9 years ago made out to my since deceased Uncle for hay. Claims he was buying "hay futures". I ended up getting $25 use for the tractor...nothing for the hay!

got one myself guy's ,friend bought 100 acres of cleared off land couple weeks back ,he already owned 100 acres across the road ..
Well one day he's back ther and there is a skidder ,porter chipper and bunch a locals logging ,the boss said they were cutting windfalls on his grandmothers land!!! well we marked off his property line other week and they've been in taking trees as of today ,,
Trouble is the community this is in ..well no politically correct way to say it but the community is in the news allot and has a reputation ..you wouldn't go walking there after dark if your not from there .
So if you confront em they'll burn ya out ,,if you let keep doing it you loose bunch a trees ...not sure how this ones gonna pan out ..
OH and 100 acres he bought that wre cleared ,owner doesn't know where those trees went either!!!!hmmm wonder if they could log with burnt out gear !!!!!
