My computer is protected by norton. Been having some trouble lately so I called them. After 10 people that couldn't speak english and 4 1/2 hours of the clock I get a recording saying to call back in 8 hours. If I new who to shoot I think I could pull the trigger on someone right now. Sorry just had to vent before I blow. Thanks to all you good people at yesterdays tractor.

I will never use Norton again, tried to upgrade my Norton, had same experience, people couldn't talk English. When my credit card was charged for the upgrade, but I never got it, again 10 phone calls and assurance that my credit card would be credited next month, never happened. Norton sure screwed me, but it will never happen again, never use any of their products again.

Both my desktop and laptop came with installed a trial version of Norton Internet Security which I uninstalled way before the expiration date. It is total rubbish. It slows your system down too. I also like AVG but for a few dollars you can have AVG Anti-Malware which detects spyware as well as viruses.(It finds a few things Ad-aware and Spybot fail to detect) You can try before you buy.

I think that Norton used to be really good 15 years ago. Since then, I am not too sure. Last thing was a little pop up box saying that they had stopped some internet worm. At the time, the only thing going on was a Norton virus signature update...

Norton motorcyles, on the other hand, were always junk, but are still fun to ride.

Get rid of the Norton. I have two computers, one for internet the other is 100 sterile-no one can touch, no internet, no disks allowed to be inserted. It has Norton installed, and at the time of expiration it found lots of infections / viruses. Sorry can't be anything but a preprogramed Norton thing going on.

I had a PC built by a local San Diego computer genius (monsterboxpc.com) He recommended AVG Free protection from: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/I+need+help

Select: AVG antivirus FREE. Download

It has worked great. And you cannot beat the price!

#1 reason why most are getting rid of Norton. They cheated me out of last 6 months of updates on subscription so adios! Same as you found out their customer service stinks and they never helped me and then just wanted more money when subscription was over. I had already dumped them by then. There are many others out there with free versions and less money and headaches.
