Looks like its time to do the clutch on the old girl (AGAIN). The tractor spends most of it's life under a loader feeding round bales and I am getting about 4 years out of a clutch. Talked to the clutch rebuilder and he says we could put in a ceramic buttons. Claims this will greatly increases clutch life, but would be harsher to operate. Anyone out there with any experience/opinions?

Thanks in advance

John

We are doing my 2755 clutch next week. Last time it was done was 2 or 3 years ago. I think we used organic because it was more forgiving. Our tractor gets lots of daily loader work in manure and soil. Our guys do not treat the tractor well. I am just amazed they havn't done more dammage.

A button clutch will give you alot more life BUT,there is no slipping the clutch to ease into a load, they are pretty much engaged or disengaged,if you do try to slip it it will tend to be real jumpy.Another negative is if you do try to slip it alot you will be replacing the flywheel at the next clutch replacement. The ceramic pucks are just as hard as the flywheel.

That's the info I was looking for. If ceramic is that hard on flywheels, I'll steer clear of it.

Thanks

John
