I have an IH 450D I would like to put a sun shade on. I really do not need a cab tractor here along the gulf, but I would like to have a sun shade on the 450D like I do on the green one.
It gets really hot out there when using the bushhog in the Summer.
Anyone ever tried this? Recon there is a kit for older tractors?

one of the small farmers in this area of the TX gulf coast has 2 new holland or ford tractors ie 6610 maybe?

anyway, from the highway i can't tell what he's using for the frame to support them, but he's got a cheap and easy solution for shade..... a kid's wading pool secured upside down over the seat.

yeah, you read that right....looks like they came from Walmart. light blue, lightweight plastic.

first time i saw it, i nearly ran off the road laughing, but now i think it's pretty smart. cheap, flexible, and if you break it-easy to replace.

It was a perfectly good cab. But I wanted a rops & canopy and the salvage yard wanted $250 to trade so I got out the torch.

Don't know about you and your Hydro 86, but this old duffer now thinks that a cab on a loader tractor is the only way to go!

Glad ya talked me into that one (even tho you didn't know you were doing it at the time). :>)

Gary,

Is that the farm in question? Sure looks like that country throws the production.

Its this one Allan.

Which is just 1/4 mile north of the 560 picture.

Its right across the road from the buildings in the 560 picture.

Wow!

That is some impressive dirt! And to think that you don't even have to irrigate to get it to look like that.

What do you do with all your spare time anyway? :>)

Thanks Randy...I was thinking more about a fixed one. I would tear one of the canvas types up in one season with the tree limbs.
But thanks for the information.

Bill you are right trees will cause troubles with the umbrella type.

But if limbs are very big they will be trouble on the plastic and metal ones also.

With the umbrella they are easy to fold up or take off with one wing nut.Take off under the trees and put back on in about 2 minutes.

Sun canopy will take a few bolts to remove.

Just my thoughts Gary.

Hey Bill!

I'm old fashioned, I know. But, what I do is wear my ball cap with the bill facing forward. Sure helps! :>)

Ya mean there is another way to wear a ball cap?
Darn, ya learn something new every day.
Really though, it sure gets hot here in the Summer on that old beast. Just thought a little shade like I have on the green one might be better...
Thought I might just go ahead and make a frame to hold it and bolt a sheet on metal to the top of it.
I would almost bet someone makes one to fit...if I were willing to spend the $. Have a great day and stay warm.
By the way...going to Kansas in June. Near the Neb. line. Might just get lost up there for a few days...maybe I can ride one of your big machines for a few rounds.
