I am new to the tractor thing and am about to replace my pto shaft due to it being bent. The manuals I have clearly show that it requires 5 gallons, but it never says "of what". Anyone out there that knows. Thanks

You need 90wt gear oil. with GL-1 specs.
Must be GL-1, not GL-5.
I got a gallon from NAPA for about $8.

For some reason the forum software

screws up the layout of my posts.

Just to make sure that is read properly

I am posting it again.

1 gallon Napa Part# 65-201

I called the local store and they looked up the part number.

They didn't have it in stock.

But they said that I could drive out to

the main store/warehouse and buy it.

I was going by there that day so I stopped and got it.

Forum screwed up the layout of my post again.
Looks fine on preview.
But when I go back to read it, all the line breaks are gone.
It looks like one long paragraph.

You need what is called GL-1. If you use other things it can cause problems from what I have heard.

About five years ago when I changed the oil in mine, the charts at the N.H.(Ford) dealer said to use their 134 oil. It"s a lot thinner than the 90 and works excellent in cold weather. In cold weather, the 90 will be like tar and the hyd system will be very slow if it works at all.
