Finally, at age 40, picked up my old farm toys and trains from my parent's this past summer. All in excellent shape...Dad did not go for abusing your toys...either take care of them, or don't get any more. Anyways, my ERTL JD5020, made in 1973, somehow lost it's air cleaner and muffler (courtesy of my younger brother)after I went off to college. Anyways, found this great site, dakotahtoys.com, that carries these parts and tons of others for older farm toys. Very reasonable.

Thought some of you guys might find this useful in some way.

Tim

Hi;
Dennis & Joan Parker from Dakota Toys visited us some years ago when they were in England - nice people.
Also recomend Charlie & Barb Burkholder from Michigan, Burkholder Toys - search Google for their address. Charlie & Ray Crilley who wrote the farm toy books are old friends, used some info on Britains Ltd farm toys based on the book I wrote & the models in my collection.
Cheers David

I have bought parts from the Burkholders at toy shows. The first time I mail ordered from them (several yr ago) they sent me the parts with a bill and I sent back a check.COuldn't believe it.

I'm glad to find out about this. My brother and I had some john deere things like a 4 bottom plow, corn wagon, tractors,etc. We took good care of them , but my mom let some kids play with them after we were older and they tore them up. Same kids messed up my 40's vintage Lionel train. Anyway, my plow needs a hitch as I had to make one out of wire.

They're a great place to get these parts.

I did a complete restoration on my 1966 806 a few years back. I got a set of fenders, steering wheel, muffler, front pedestal, front rims, front wheels, decals, grill insert, and hitch insert. That 806 has many hours on it, but it looks like new.
