I am going to haul some farm scrap to the junk yard for my brother. He has some parts from a 706 International including both rear axle shafts and each are attached to a housing. Probably a bearing housing as I am not familiar with that tractor and did not look at it too close. Are parts like these pretty common and ok to scrap or should I make an effort to find someone who can use them. It would probably have to be someone local because of the weight.

It's OK to scrap them them. I'd say the supply exceeds the demand. (now probably tomorrow somebody will want them) I've gone out and dug stuff out of the load more than once.
