Does anyone out there know the minimum bridge clearance if it's not posted..I'm coaching a couple of new guys at the township garage so they can get their CDL..It's not in the CDL book and I remember missing it when I took my test some years ago..Man , if you " seasoned " drivers want a reality check , go take the test.. Thanks..

Bridge height is 13'6'' unless posted lower for a particular bridge. Some states will have theirs at 14'. But 13'6''is mandatory.

In most States it is 14' on State Roads . Might be different in some states . You don't see many vans over 13' 6" . If power Co runs line a line across road it has to be at least 14' above road .

If I remember correctly, if its an interstate standard highway...it should be at least 16-9. I know in Ohio most of the bridges on the freeways are being rehabbed to this height. It depends though.
