Well I never got around to adding the hitch but, I did still haul the rake in that way sort of. What I did was hook up 2 chains. One chain pulled forward and the other one back on the rake hitch. That way it couldn't pull off the trailor and also when I hit the brakes it couldn't go forward either. Worked just find. I did use boomers on each chain so they where tight in both ways. I also drove the back roads which are gravel so as to stay a little safer

As long as it's a farmer and you try and stay off the main roads just about anything goes around here .

Stay off the main roads and pretty much anything os legal as long as you don't get caught. Quite often the best way to get a job done is to just do it and don't look back.

I di stop 2 or 3 times to check the chains and also grease the bearing on the hay rake. I think I might have gotten up to 40-45 once or twice but not for long. Had only about 15 miles to pull it that way also
