These days in Western, Pa., there are so many old tractors available that I can't afford to buy anymore. I have never seen it like this in the last 20 years. There are still a fair amount of high priced ones in the bargain papers, but they aren't selling. All you need to do is make an offer and you will almost certainly get a call. It might take a month, but things aren't selling well. That is the best time to buy though. I was wondering if it is like this elsewhere?

here in western ky almost anything you can think of is in someones front yard but nothing seems to be moving trucks/cars boats a.t.v s campers even the house itself seems like folks are cutting out the xtras but nobody has money to do with. just my notion of the area economy

Where in W PA are you?
I'm in Beaver Co.

Tractors do seem a little cheaper except for the one I'm looking for or if it has green paint. Don't know just what I'm looking for but if i see it I'll know it.

Phil

Sure ain't that way with old trucks they think they are gold and will not even entertain offer . Thats the price take it or leave it . As for tractors well it is a funny market and people think that they can make a killing on them only to find out that it is a market that is limited as to buyers as owening a tractor is sorta like having a mistress if ya use it it is going to want and need something.

Here in north central Ohio I don't see alot of old stuff sitting for sale as I used to. The newer compacts are selling good I think because if I call about one it is usually sold allready. I think the ones at auctions are still selling good too.

Not sure what you consider "old" but here in mid-Michigan the amount of tractors for sale is just plain crazy.

We here figure it is from all the GM/Delphi buyouts and retires that are happening right now.

Tons for sale, mostly utility MFs, Fords, JDs 25-45hp range... Even a fair amount of the newer compacts.

Seeing a lot of good deals just don't have a use for another tractor right now. There are two I am thinking on that are so cheap I cant afford not to buy at least one.

Downside, there are 2-3 times the amount of houses on the market and nothing is moving. So if you want a cheap house and a cheap tractor come to mid Michigan, only problem is finding the job to pay for them.

Rick

Yessir! Here in the heartland it's slow as the dickens too. Went to an auction that had two old Fords (8N & 2N), a Farmall 504 Utility with loader and a Gehl Skid loader. The Skid loader sold for $4,000 but couldn't even get a bid on the Fords and the 504 only got to $3,000. If stuff sells, it goes cheap! Maybe we need even more tractor rides to gain interest!!!!

Round here 2 cyl Deeres mostly get swapped around among "insiders". Used old Fords and decent Kubotas sell good. Ain't NUTHIN else moving at all less you jus give it away.
That's the jmixigo report on the west GA east AL market.

Same here. Advertised my 300 Case round nose and got two answers. One wanted to know what it was and the other wanted to trade his old 4 wheel pickup.
