Best put on a long sleeve shirt and tee shirt today done went and got cool . Got somewhat a good start on choppen corn yesterday with two major breakdowns . We would have finished up the one field but broke a drive shaft that runs the head and welded it up lastevening after dark . Headen out to put things back together here in a short and see if we can beat the rain out that is comming in . Need to get some pill to take the swelling down in my hand from the bee sting yesterday that was a trip to the Doctors office my hand and lower part of the arm swelled up as big as a softball and it is starting to swell again . For some reason the bees are more agressive as they will come after ya if you are running anything , Chainsaw , tractor , mower . We took some pictures lastevening of the corn while we tood a break for a quick sandwitch now if i can get Dusty to get them on here as this years silage crop is the best that we have ever had and this is the first year that 2nd low on the 1066 is all she wants and all the chopper can handel or maybe not with the breakdowns . Filling a wagon on half around and this is the short field not sure if we can make it all the way on one side of the long field or not as pullen the wagons up to the bunker is about all that the 806 wants on the hill now on dry dirt , may have to get some all thread and put 1200 lbs on each side of the 806 .

Chief if your allergic to bee stings your doc can give you a script for an epi-pen (epinephren) it is a single dose auto-injector which just means it is spring loaded and when you push it to your leg the needle will come out and give you the meds.
Also benadryl works good for it, jsut make sure your not allergic to it before you take it, we had a run that a little girl had been stung a few times and was having problems reathing, her mother knowing the benadryl should help gave it to her, her first time, she was more allergic to the benadryl than the bee stings and we had a hell of a time treating her

Strangely, I seem to be getting less sensitive to bee stings- last few, it quits hurting in 5 minutes, can't even see where I was stung in 15 minutes. I get kind of a warm, glowing feeling from it as well. Don't know whats going on, but I'm not knocking it.

Can you tell me what the doctor gave to carry with you.Three months ago I received 66 stings from ground bees.Mostly over my left eye and around the left temple.I had dry heaves and hurt bad.A friend took me to local fire house ten miles away and the bees had stayed with the truck. When I got out to get to the ambulance there were still 8 or 10 bees buzzing around but did not attack anyone.Iwas in the emergency room with I V in my arm plus some shots. That only took about 40 minutes but the bill was just over $1865.A doctor walked thru twice and spoke a few words to to the nurse who was doing all the treatment,There were two doctor charges on the bill,$540 each and another charge for a treatment not performed.Still under protest! About three weeks later I was walking past about 1oo feet from a nest in an old building and was again attacked and received 6 stings in corner of my left eye which swelled real bad.I now seem more allergic than before.I'd like to carry some kind of anti- venom.

Yellow jackets and probably other bees and hornets leave a scent behind when they sting that tells all other members of their species to attack here! So after you get stung you need to wash off the scent they leave behind or your gonna get some more of that attention.
My dad and I were skidding logs in the woods and upset a nest and they went after my dad. I was there too and (with gloved hands) picked them off him and crushed them as fast as they landed as we got out of there. I killed a bunch and they only went after him.

Mornin vet

My son in law carries a little dose of that medicine with him.

He got pretty sick about 4 years ago from a sting.

Doc said he needed to get the medicine quicker,so gave him a dose to carry.

Darnit!

Do you know anybody that can tune that old 1066 up for ya?

Just kiddin'. :>)

Yeah, they are cutting corn around here like crazy too. Saw a big outfit down the road from me takin' eight rows at a pop. Droughted out stuff tho and they look like they're movin' in road gear.
