I was selling an air compressor on a local for sale page and got one like this from a guy who said he was moving to Australia and just could not live there without my $150.00 air compressor. The wording was pretty much the same, too formal for a guy looking for an air compressor. When is the last time you heard anyone use the term "shipping agent." Anyway, I told him to go screw himself and never heard from them again.

I've read the busted up cowgirl stuff and it's an absolute riot!

It is a scam...but tell him you only accept CASH!!!! Greenbacks with dead US presidents on them, not Pesos, Yen, or Francs.

LOL My wife is oblivious to this stuff. I was pretty sure, not only the instant he would send a check, but the wording? Nobody replies to a car or anything for sale like that. Im glad im not the only one who sees this as a scam.

Don't walk but run! Anyone who is willing to pay for something sight unseen without asking any questions about the item is a scammer in my book. If a buyer is really serious he will e-mail first but would definetly call yo on the phone, a scammer won't call you.

Heck yea, it's probably a scam.

I just recieved a similar email on a car I'm selling.

I told him as long as his agent that arrives for the car can cash the check we got a deal.

These scammers are pikers. I received an offer from South Africa to participate in getting 45 million from Swiss banks. Since nobody in their right mind would associate me with any part of 45 mil I turned the letter in to the Post Office.
